NHS Project

In a collaboration between the Lincoln County Hospital and the University of Lincoln Fine Art department, students including myself were invited to work with mental health service users to create artworks for the development of new Peter Hodgkinson Centre mental health wards.
The multi million pound project was designed to allow an exceptional level of care for patients. It allows unprecidented independence in Lincoln, without compromising safety, with vast outdoor courtyards, which centre the design.
The artworks are provided as the focus of the courtyard, with the two main artworks speaking to each other in respective “Castle” and “Ellis” wards. As well as smaller supporting artworks in quiet courtyards, so the two artworks can be accessed on both male and female wards.
